Nathanaël

Nathanaël is the author of more than thirty books written in English or in French, and published in the United States, Québec and France. Notable works include Hatred of Translation (2019), La mort de ma sœur (2018), L’heure limicole (2016), and the essay of correspondence, Absence Where As (Claude Cahun and the Unopened Book) (2009). Nathanaël’s translations include works by Danielle Collobert, Édouard Glissant, Frédérique Guétat-Liviani, Hervé Guibert, Catherine Mavrikakis, and Hilda Hilst (the latter in collaboration with Rachel Gontijo Araújo). A recipient of the prix Alain-Grandbois (Qc.), the prix Claudine de Tencin (Fr.), and a Publishing Triangle Award (U.S.A.), Nathanaël has been recognized through her work by fellowships from the PEN American Center, the Centre National du Livre de France and Terre d’Arts through ETC Caraïbe (Martinique).
