Q: Do I need to live in NYC or can the fellowship be conducted remotely? 

A: The fellowship can be completed entirely remotely. Applicants do not need to live in NYC but must be based in the U.S.

Q:  The call says the fellowship requires approximately 15 hours per month. Can one reasonably do the fellowship while still working another full-time job?

A: Yes! Our current Editorial Fellow works a full-time job in addition to their fellowship. Keep in mind that while we strive to remain as flexible as possible with regards to creating a schedule that works for you, we do require fellows to make time for meetings with Nightboat staff during business hours (12 – 6 EST). 

Q: When can I expect to hear back about the status of my application?A: We will be announcing the Editorial Fellow in December. We appreciate your patience and understanding that we won’t be able to provide updates on the status of your application before that time unless you are selected for an interview
