Jim Brodey

Jim Brodey (1942–1993) was a poet and rock music critic born in Brooklyn. A literary figure in 1960s New York City, he was friends with many experimental poets, artists, and musicians. He is the author of eight poetry collections, including Heart of the Breath: Poems 1979-1992 (1996), Judyism (1980), Piranha Yoga (1977), Blues of the Egyptian Kings (1975), Identikit (1967), and Freak Wonder: Collected Poems (Nightboat, 2027). He also published poems in The Paris Review, C: A Journal of Poetry, The World, 432 Review, and his own little magazine, Clothesline. He died in San Francisco.
