Crocosmia: New York Launch

Celebrate the launch of Miranda Mellis’ Crocosmia at Wendy’s Subway in Brooklyn, NY with the poet, essayist, and novelist Matt Longabucco.

Miranda Mellis is the author of Demystifications (2021); The Instead (2016); The Spokes (2012); None of This Is Real (2012); The Revisionist (2007). She has been an artist-in-residence at the Headlands Center for the Arts, the Vermont Studio Center, and Millay Colony. She received the John Hawkes Prize in Fiction, the Michael S. Harper Praxis Prize, and a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. She grew up in San Francisco and now lives in Olympia, Washington.

Matt Longabucco is an essayist, poet, and novelist. Recent publications include the book M/W: An essay on Jean Eustache’s La maman et la putain (Ugly Duckling Presse 2021), the chapbook Heroic Dose (Inpatient Press 2019), and the catalog essay for Nicole Eisenman’s Incelesbian (Dieu Donné/Anton Kern 2020). His work has appeared in MirageLana TurnerParkettThe Brooklyn Rail, and elsewhere. From 2012 to 2014, he curated the Friday Night Series at the Poetry Project. He co-founded Wendy’s Subway, an independent library and community arts space in Brooklyn. He is a long-time associate of Bard College’s Institute for Writing and Thinking, where he teaches innovative pedagogy to educators.
