Nightboat Books and The David Wojnarowicz Foundation present a reading and celebration of David Wojnarowicz’s Memories That Smell Like Gasoline, the last book he wrote before his AIDS-related death.
David Michael Wojnarowicz (1954-1992) came to prominence in New York in the 1980s, part of a cohort of East Village artists including Nan Goldin, Kiki Smith, Karen Finley, and Peter Hujar. Collected in Memories That Smell Like Gasoline are his most intimate stories and sketches, from the full spectrum of his life as an artist and activist.
